Admin Professionals’ Day

Updated: May 7, 2018

For me, the thought of success in business conjures up images of executives clinking glasses in a swanky bar after closing an important deal, or a wealthy client taking their project manager to dinner as they’ve finished the job ahead of schedule.

Sadly, I don’t think many people (including myself) think of the admin staff that have worked hard behind the scenes to ensure their bosses could reap such rewards.

Introducing Administrative Professionals’ Day.

The day first kicked off in 1952 as National Secretaries Day, but fast forward a few decades and a few changes in job title, and we now have an all-encompassing day designed to celebrate admin professionals’ valued work.

This year it’s on 25th April (today), but the date does change, as it falls on the Wednesday of the last full week of April – smack bang in the middle of Administrative Professionals’ Week in the US.

As you may have guessed by the fact that the US has a whole week of celebrations, the US is ahead of the UK in celebrating their admin professionals, but we are starting to get on board with this important day.
